The starting point

Telecine's financial planning team is technical and always wanted to be seen as a strategic function. The obstacle was not skill: it was that the company's operation is complex enough to demand the area's constant attention, and the tool could not absorb that complexity.

The consequence was excess overtime to get the reports out on time, and difficulty creating advanced reports and analyses — mainly for lack of a technology that could handle the company's particulars without depending on IT.

What was sought

A flexible solution, able to take in the business's nuances, with a friendly, familiar interface that would give the team more autonomy.

After looking at different technologies without finding that flexibility, a LeverPro demo showed in practice the adaptability we were missing.

The budget left finance

Building and managing the budget became decentralised, with each department's managers taking part in putting it together.

Dependence on IT went down

Daniel Pontes, an analyst in the area, became the platform's in-house expert, and that gave the team autonomy to analyse, adjust and explore what the solution does. The interface has the same syntax as a spreadsheet, and both adoption and uptake came in above expectations.
